about
Mary Vogel, EQUITY WORKS Principal, has a distinguished history as an attorney, advocate, and non-profit leader dedicated to improving labor standards and practices in construction and other industries.

"Every worker, regardless of background, identity, or status, deserves dignity, respect, and equal access to opportunities. Leaders can take concrete steps today to foster a culture where everyone feels genuinely welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute. When organizations achieve this, both the organization and its people thrive, creating a space for authentic engagement, growth, and shared success."
Ms. Vogel most recently served as the Executive Director of Building Pathways, Inc., a Boston-based non-profit recognized for developing and implementing effective diversity, equity and inclusion strategies for the construction industry. Prior to joining Building Pathways, she served as Executive Director of the National Council on Occupational Safety and Health and was the founding Executive Director of The Construction Institute, a statewide labor-management organization engaged in advocacy, training, and collaborative efforts to promote union construction and improve health and safety and working conditions in the Massachusetts construction trades. She has also served as Executive Director of the Asbestos Victims Special Fund Trust in Philadelphia, General Counsel to the Sheet Metal Occupational Health Institute in Washington, DC, and as an associate attorney in the labor law firms of Sherman, Dunn, Cohen, Leifer, and Counts PC in Washington, DC and Cohen, Weiss and Simon in New York, NY. Mary is a graduate of Georgetown Law School, where she helped found the Equal Justice Foundation.
